Teens
The Teens are a group of vibrant, dedicated adolescents who are self-motivated and commited to the mission of the National organization. Each year, they plan their own educational, cultural, civic, and social activities. Teen Advisors Charlinda Gales and Mary Whitner will provide guidance to the teens during the program year, but allow them to manage their own monthly teen meetings using Robert's Rules of Order. This allows our teens to gain important skills that are necessary to assume leadership positions in any career they choose to enter upon the completion of college.
Each year, the teens attend the Eastern Regional Teen Conference. The purpose of the Conference is to create a medium of contact for teenage children to provide constructive educational, recreational, and social programs by and for teens within a given geographical area. During this Conference, graduating seniors and other accomplished teen members are recognized.
The 2010 Teen Conference was held in New York City, NY. The theme was "Better, Stronger, Faster: Building A New Future." At the 2010 Eastern Regional Teen Conference, our own GUCC teens represented GUCC in a mighty way! They also celebrated to of its own graduating seniors - Simone Hairston and Isaac Davis.

In March 2010, the annual Eastern Regional Teen Conference was held in New York, NY. The theme was "Better, Stronger, Faster: Builder A Stronger Furture." The Teen Conference is an event that our Teens look forward to attending each year. Thank you to our 2009-10 Teen Advisors, Karla Jones Raynor and Charlinda Gales, as well as to all of the teen moms who provided support and guidance to this hardworking and ambitious group!
